School Open Day Figures Increased by 25% with Social Media Marketing

Long-standing client St Margaret Ward Catholic Academy briefed us to promote two of their upcoming open days, one for the high school and the second for their sixth form.  

SMWCA has a retainer with the integrated marketing agency already and we were able to utilise the allocated monthly budget to roll out a highly targeted, tactical campaign.

Digital Marketing Results

Using a small daily advertising budget, we promoted the open day using a combination of paid and organic social media strategies which ultimately resulted in: 

  • 25% increase in High School Open Day Attendance figures compared to 2023 
  • Over 100 attendees for the Sixth Form Open Day 

 

High School Open Day Marketing 

The Education Agency developed a carousel style ad using polaroid style imagery to convey the culture and values at St Margaret Ward. This was posted alongside an Eventbrite page which we created to offer further information about the school and the open day. This also allowed us to track how many people were planning to attend.  

The carousel post was published organically on the SMWCA Facebook page and pinned to the top. We then pushed it out as a META ad, to a highly targeted and refined audience.  

The campaign resulted in 17,210 impressions, 275 link clicks and 400 attendees on the day. This was a 25% increase on previous years.  

Sixth Form Open Day Marketing

We deployed the same tactics to promote the Sixth Form Open Day which the school hadn’t done before.  

Using stand out promotional, digital graphics via a mixture of paid social media advertising, organic social media posting and utilising Eventbrite to promote the event, the campaign resulted in a 66% increase in open day visitors for 2024 vs 2023.
